HOW IT WORKS

Four steps. One garment. Two families.

You send it.

Start a trade-in from your account. We email a prepaid Bluedart label within an hour. Drop the piece in any Bluedart box, or schedule a free pickup. We pay shipping both ways.

We grade it.

Our sorting team in Tirupur inspects every returned piece against a published rubric. Three grades: Like New, Gently Worn, or Last Wear — the last one we recycle into yarn instead of reselling.

You get credit.

Store credit appears in your Patang account within five days of us receiving the piece. ₹400 to ₹800 depending on the garment and the grade. Spend it on anything. It doesn't expire.

04
A new family wears it.

We clean it at our partner laundry, photograph it on the same bone backdrop as the original, and list it in the Pre-Loved column of the product page. Someone else's kid gets the next chapter.

Here's exactly what we credit you per garment per grade. No black-box "estimates," no ghosted returns. If you can do the multiplication, you can predict your wallet.

Grading rubric is pinned to the wall of our Tirupur sorting space and reproduced on the back of every Patang care card. We err generously — a borderline call always becomes the higher grade.

FAQ

Things parents ask us.

How do I start a trade-in?
Log into your Patang account, find the order with the piece you want to return, and tap "Trade in." We'll email a prepaid Bluedart label within the hour. Don't have an account from the original purchase? Email us at hello@patang.in and we'll figure it out.
Does the piece need to be clean?
A normal wash is enough. We do a deeper cleaning at our partner laundry before resale, so you don't need to dry-clean or fuss. Just send it in the condition you'd hand it down to a cousin.
What if you grade it lower than I expected?
We send you the grading photos and credit amount before we finalize. You have 48 hours to ask us to reconsider or to send it back to you at our expense. We've never had this happen, but the option is there.
Can I trade in pieces from other brands?
Not yet. Right now The Loop is only Patang pieces — we know our construction inside out, which lets us grade fairly and resell confidently. Maybe someday.
What happens to "Last Wear" garments?
They get sent to our recycling partner in Panipat, where the cotton is shredded and re-spun into new yarn. We buy that yarn back for a future capsule. Genuine closed loop, not a marketing slogan.
Does my credit expire?
No. It sits in your account until you spend it. If you forget about it for two years, we'll send you a single reminder email. We won't dark-pattern your money away.
Can I buy pre-loved pieces in cash, not credit?
Yes. Pre-loved listings on every product page are available to anyone, with regular payment. The store-credit system is only for sellers — buyers pay cash. That's how we keep cash flow working.
