240 GSM is a feeling, not a number.
Most kids' tees are 140 GSM ring-spun cotton — light, cheap, deteriorates after twenty washes. Ours is 240 GSM combed organic cotton, knitted in Tirupur, bio-washed for the softness that synthetic finishes try to imitate. It drapes. It holds shape. It survives the next two siblings.
The cotton fibre is longer (combed, not carded), which is why it pills less. The knit is denser, which is why it doesn't go see-through. And it's pre-shrunk, which is why your "2y" stays a 2y at wash thirty.
